Australia and New Zealand have been enjoying plenty of precip this year with a great snowpack, but things turned sideways at Perisher this weekend. 3 separate unrelated skier deaths occurred, including two avalanches and a tree collision.
A local Australian paper has more details about the recent accidents.

The New Generation Events return for the third consecutive year, as part of the FIS Alpine World Championships 2007 in Åre, Sweden.

Meanwhile, here's a few pics Whistler photographer Arne Gutmann had saved in his own sleeve of tricks... JP Auclair going big on a monoboard. Chicks in Europe will love him forever onwards. For more of Arne's photos, check out www.boardstars.com.

Last winter a no-name Whistler local took the freeski world by storm and ended the season 0.2 points away from winning the IFSA Freesking World Champion Title. At the US National Championships he became the only skier to ever win the coveted SICK BIRD belt and a first place title in the same comp. We caught up with Jonny Law to find out what he eats for breakfast, how he skis so hard, and what he's got lined up for this winter...
