Introducing Sweetgrass Productions

Home
Rating

We came across these guys called Sweetgrass Productions outta Colorado, and they seem to have a wee ski flick brewing for this fall, focusing on back country and the mountain lifestyle. These guys are all about the 'earn your turns' philosophy and have put together a pretty nice trailer for their upcoming film Hand Cut, due out in September.

From deep powder to deep-inset couloirs, these guys have it all in their film. They have put an emphasis on backcountry skiing and filming as an art and not just a sport. Trailer definitely looks well done and artsy. Bit mellow but seems to be setting the mood for something bigger come September.

The British Columbia Teaser blends the hand-fired days of the Canadian Pacific steam trains with blower skiing on Rogers Pass and Revelstoke. From these early railroad days to the miners of Colorado's San Juan mountains, Hand Cut will convey the rugged, calloused-hand history of North American mountains.

Hand cut focuses on the purity of backcountry travel, blending self-propelled skiing with the rugged western history. DVD release september 2008, and check out www.sweetgrass-productions.com for our tour dates.
